ArcGIS in Routing

Overview

We are excited to announce the integration of ArcGIS map services into Routing of BOSS811. This enhancement is designed to improve the efficiency and flexibility of our routing conditions. Previously, users could only utilize KML/KMZ map services for defining routing conditions. With this update, you now have the option to incorporate ArcGIS map services as well.

Key Features

Enhanced Data Integration: ArcGIS is a leading platform for geographic information system (GIS) applications, offering robust and diverse mapping capabilities. By integrating ArcGIS map services, users can now leverage detailed and comprehensive geospatial data within BOSS811's routing rules.

Improved Routing Accuracy: With access to ArcGIS's precise and up-to-date mapping information, routing decisions can be made more accurately. This ensures that tasks are routed based on the most reliable geographic data available, enhancing the overall efficiency of operations.

Greater Flexibility: Users can now choose from a broader range of mapping services to suit their specific needs. Whether using legacy KML/KMZ format or the newly integrated ArcGIS services, you have the flexibility to select the mapping service that best fits your workflow and data requirements.

Enhanced Routing Conditions: By leveraging ArcGIS map services, users can create more complex and nuanced routing conditions. This capability allows for better optimization and prioritization of tasks based on detailed geographic criteria, leading to more efficient resource allocation and task management.

How to use ArcGIS in Routing

Incorporating Intersection Data in Routing: When configuring routing rules, users can utilize the intersection of work areas as a condition. This step optimizes routing decisions based on spatial relationships. 1. Navigate to the Admin tab in the left side menu to access settings. Refer to the article about Conditions Groups in Routing Rules to learn more about creating Routing rules. When selecting the condition for a Routing rule, you can choose the condition related to ArcGIS. 2. These rules can be found under the “Work” option. You can choose either “Area” or “Work coordinates”. - Area will be the entire dig site polygon sent from the call center. - Work coordinates are the center of the Work Area polygon. 3. Under sub-rules, you can select “intersects with Map Service” or “not intersects with Map Service”. 4. You can select remaining attributes like Layers, Sublayers, and Are perimeter.
